Intramural 2010

The intramural intends to provide recreational opportunities for the STI Cebu community whereby the basic human needs as relaxation, socialization, accomplishment are met while having FUN.

A series of activities involving major participation from the students highlight the event, which include various sports and cultural activities.

Volleyball and Basketball were two games that got the activity rolling. The competing teams during the 2010 Intramural were the red fox, the blue phoenix, the greenictivity and the d’unit with team colous red, blue, green and yellow.

The Intramural opened with a parade from the campus in Salinas Drive, Lahug towards IT Park and then back.

Jude, as the torch bearer, ignited the Intramural’s flames symbolizing the passion to play fairly and that it is essential to be united to enrich the game.

The presentation of Mr. & Ms. Intramural followed thereafter. Triumph went to the greenectivity as their muse got the title Ms. Intramurals 2010 and to the d’unit for Mr. Intramural.

The hip-hop dance competition set the grounds groovy mood as the contestants showed their signature steps to the hip hop music that they themselves mixed.

Other games were chess, table tennis, once-once, badminton and scrabble.

The Pinoy games challenge consisted of various actions such as the “Maria went to town”, the coconut shell race, the limbo rock, the sipa, the sack race and the bunong-braso.

There was also the Videoke king and queen. The idols sang the selected songs to determine the winners.  It was one long singing competition as the videoke machine revealed the same score for most contestants. In the end, a winner was selected for garnering the highest score.

The three-day event culminated with an early Alay-lakad participation from Fuente Osmena down to Cebu Sports complex, the cheer dance competition, and the finals for the volleyball and the basketball.

Victory went to the red fox; with greenectivity as second; blue phoenix as third and last but not least the d’unit.

The activities were made successful by the full participation and the enthusiastic support of the students while the staff and the teachers deserve more than a pat on their backs for the laudable undertaking as they facilitated each event, coached the teams, cheered and encouraged the players to focus on their moves to triumph.
The camaraderie was strengthened and team spirit was enhanced.
