2011 INTRAMURALS AND ALAY-LAKAD

Today is the last day of our Intramurals, which started with the participation to the Alay-lakad. The participants started to converge along Mango Ave. Cebu City as early as 5:00 AM to meet the other delegates at Fuente OsmeƱa.

Joining the Alay-lakad is an important undertaking for the students in Cebu City since they are able to donate to the funds needed to aid the out-of-school youth get the education they deserve. Alay-lakad is also an opportunity to meet and greet other students form other schools, teachers and government officials.

SolidWorks Innovation Day

I went to Solidworks Innovation Day 2011 held at Parklane Hotel, Cebu City. It was a product presentation on the latest efforts of innovation by the company.
The presentation is an overview of the
SolidWorks Premium 2011 and its complementary products. It is described as the ultimate tool to design, validate, communicate and manage 3 dimension computer aided design models. The design tools have efficient part, assembly, and drawing capabilities with built-in simulation, routing and image/animation creation which in effect makes the management of product data and the sharing of design ideas faster, simpler, and smarter.

The presentation really amazed me, since it is in 3 dimensional and you can see the detailed design by just clicking any area on the screen to make the image move, and rotate according to your manipulation.  The software has detailed information on the part that has to be modified, enhanced and calculated.

CITIZEN STI

by A. Lauron, BSIT 2

At first I thought that "Citizen STI" simply means a student from STI or the students studying in the institution, but I was wrong, when I heard it from the (National Youth) convention. Something inspires me when I listened to the speaker that was talking all about CITIZEN STI. I have attended several seminars and talks but this one is different. It was delivered well by the speaker and all of the students were attentively listening to it, thanks to him I have learned a lot on his talk, like the 7 factors of a Citizen of STI.
